Back in March last year, I wrote this entry about a bad experience with Pizza Hut. Thankfully, I’ve had great service since then… well, until Tuesday that is..
Brian’s at mine, I’m at work. He phones to see if I’m coming home soon. I am. He suggests pizza. I’m down with that. 15 minutes later I’m home and we’re eagerly awaiting delivery. We wait. And we wait. And we’re hungry. And we wait.
After almost an hour of waiting, we call. The girl puts me on hold, goes through to the store, comes back and says it’s on its way, should be here within minutes, and knock 20% off the bill.
After another 20 minutes, it’s still not here. I call again. Apologies ensue, once more they call the local store (because all 310-1010 calls are answered somewhere in Alberta - you knew that, right?). Once more I’m told the pizza’s on the way. They knock 50% off the bill (which I think was 50% off the amount that was already discounted 20%). I tell the girl that that’s great, but if it’s not here in the next 15 minutes, I’m not paying. She’s cool with that, and gives me her name.
After ANOTHER 15 minutes, still no pizza! You’re having a fucking laugh aren’t you? I call back, I speak to Nicole. She goes through to the local store. Apparently, it hasn’t left. Uh, HELLO? They told you and you told me that it HAD been dispatched.. TWICE! It’s now over an hour and a half after we placed the order and still no pizza? Yeah - forget it.. we’ll go out and eat somewhere else..
She’s dead apologetic.. says the pizza will be free if we still want it.. I decline, she says she’ll put a $15+change credit on my account. I say I think it was $18ish for the pizza.. she says ok, call it $25, sorry for all the hassle.
Result: We’re starving, desperately in need of food, but I have a $25 credit next time I want to order from Pizza Hut.
I’m just stunned as to how anything can go so spectacularly wrong. The pizza should have been there within 20 minutes of that first call.. but almost an hour and three quarters after an order was placed, still no pizza? What gives?!
Nuff said.. and speaking of pizza, I’m hungry.. what do I want for dinner?
