Most of the weekend stuff has been covered in my podcast, which I’ll be posting right after I do this entry.. so this one might be a bit short’n’sweet..

Friday: Went out with Brian for food then met his friend Victoria for a couple of drinks. I’ll go with “different” and leave it at that. He went off, I came home and hung out with Shawn, quiet chilled night in.

Saturday: Rented a car, took Shawn to the airport - his big adventure starts here! Sad to see him go, but know he’s gonna have a blast. Drove all round, Coquitlam, SFU, Deep Cove, North Van. Chilled out Saturday night but felt a bit restless with it too.

Sunday: Mooched around.. met Julia and Brian for lunch.. went for the longest walk’n'talk EVER with Julia.. must have walked like 7km.. chilled in the evening, did a bit of work, Brandon stopped by to say hi, finished work, watched Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy, then hit the sack.. Mmm clean sheets!

Yes.. dull, bland, pedestrian. But you love it. The real good stuff’s in the podcast.. maybe.. so check it out people!

Ok, so posting this on Thursday morning technically isn’t quite midweek.. but I was up late last night and really didn’t have the energy..

Too many late nights this week. Monday I did my podcast, later than usual, and was up late. Tuesday night I went out for dinner with Michelle, got home, caught up with emails and stuff and went to bed late. Last night I went to the movies with Kevin, got home just before midnight then stayed up late writing Shawn’s card as he’s due back in town today then off to Australia on Saturday.

Then this morning? Ugh.. I so didn’t want to get up.. here’s hoping tonight’s an earlier night and I can catch up on sleep so that Friday/Saturday I’m more normal, less zombie-like.

On Monday I went to Pacific Centre for lunch, I needed to grab a card for Shawn and a couple of birthday cards and I’m there in Carlton Cards trying to find an appropriate Good Luck/You’re Leaving type card (which, PS, there really aren’t that many decent options to choose from - definitely an untapped niche market!). I’m looking around, and there’s a bunch of “Miss You!” type cards, including a multi page one full of whimsical rhyming verses obviously designed for lovers who are geographically separated. Can’t remember what the iPod was pumping in to my ears at the time but I think it was something pretty mellow, and it all just made me feel a bit sad.

Then last night, it’s late, I’m tired, I want to go to bed but I also need to get Shawn’s card written, and I feel sad again. It’s weird when stuff like that happens… Like, we’re not the most regular of hang out buddies, but we hang out once in a while, chat it up on MSN pretty regularly, a few phone calls here and there.. but the deal is that if we wanted to hang out, we could. And when you’re 9224 miles away (or 14845 kilometers, according to ask.com), it’s kind of hard to hang out at short notice. It’s that whole “not having the option any more” that bugs, I think.

Ugh, I’m groggy this morning - I just listened to 30 minutes from last Friday’s Chris Moyles Breakfast Show before realising that I’d heard it before and coming to the realisation that today is actually Thursday not Friday. DOH!

K.. shower time.. gotta scrub up, wake up, and get my ass to work for another fun packed day of code review and tweaking.. Go team go! :-)

Bit of an up and down weekend, partly sociable, partly not…

Friday: Skipped the gym (gasp!) and went for drinks with Antoine. His mate Bertrand (spelling?) had just arrived in town, here on sabbatical. Henry, the very English roommate, joined us, as did Dan who knows them through the house, he knew one of the girls who lived there previously, or something.. Good beer, good food, good vodka, good conversations. Left there around 11, they were heading off somewhere else and I decided to call it a night. Came home, vegged and chilled, then hit the sack.

Saturday: Got up late, vegged around, caught up on some emails and stuff on the net. Met Alyson for lunch and a bit of clothes shopping (for her, not me - I really have to be in the mood go clothes shopping for myself). Came home, vegged a bit, ordered pizza in.. debated going to the movies but ended up crashed out watching TV. Kinda mellow night, would have have preferred to have done something, but was half in the mood to keep myself to myself as well. Meh.

Sunday: The regular Sunday routine - get up, tuned in to Dance Anthems on Radio 1, phoned the parents. Met Brian and headed down to Granville Island for lunch. Went for a walkabout, checked out Future Shop, grabbed coffee, came home. Still felt a bit restless though, like I’d rather be outside than in. Ended up going to the movies to watch Firewall. Meh, average. IMDB currently rates it 6.0 out of 10 which is pretty much spot on what I’d give it. Some good parts, some total cheesy porn parts, and a few points where I wanted to smack Harrison Ford for being a) stupid or b) a bad actor. Came home, chilled, went to bed with clean sheets. Nice.

Bland and boring pedestrian entry eh? ;-)

I seriously cannot believe it’s Wednesday night already.. crashed out on the sofa, watching TV, me and Shawn both on our laptops - fuck, talk about pair o’ geeks!

So.. yesterday was Shrove Tuesday.. aka Pancake Day.. and I didn’t have any! :-( Mainly because I didn’t really know until it was a bit too late.. Adam Carter mentioned it in his podcast (check it out at www.alladz.tk) and was funny with it (check out episode 7!) Then I thought I’d make up for it tonight, but that didn’t quite work out cos both Cafe Crepe’s were shut when we swung by there around 10ish..

Today I got invited to join the lottery pool at work.. totally random, kinda bizarre, but cool.. so I’m in! Then around 4pm the time started D-R-A-G-G-I-N-G like a mofo.. Worked till just after 6, hit the gym, came home, showered, met a guy about some work, came home again, and all of a sudden, fuck, it’s 9:30! Where did the evening go? Kinda like last night, which flew by whilst watching TV and chatting online? Noooo.. not happening again! Went out with Shawn, grabbed coffee.. and here I am.. home.. watching TV.. and frigging the time on this posting so it doesn’t look like I was up till all hours..

Roll on the weekend!
